Backstory -
Years before she was born, a ranger named Polmos and his beast companion skulked about the foggy woods. A monster slayer by trade he had heard of people going missing around that area. Little did he know he'd be lost too as the mists would forever trap them in Barovia. There he encountered a cult of evil druids and the terrifying Gulthias tree which would be the end of his life and of his feline companion. However the mists would not allow even their souls to leave so some time passed and those souls would be reincarnated.
Then she was born, first born daughter to the burgermeister of the town of Vallaki, Vishnya Petrovna. Her childhood was first spent in her parent's manor, but that was before she discovered that she was special for she was a being of two souls! When Polmos, the ranger and his beast companion's souls were reincarnated, the beast, a large feline, was reincarnated into a person, while Polmos' soul remained attached and from then on was able to communicate and even briefly apparate for young Vishnya. Once her parents found out about her phantasmal friend it was over for her, she was ostricised, disowned and banished from the house. Secretly sent to live with her uncle, a priest who lived at the church in the other side of town. There she sould spend the remainder of her childhood and young adult years.
Her uncle was incredibly kind to her, raising her better than her own parents ever did and even lovingly gave her a nickname, one she'd end up using more than her given name, Ponchiki!
She'd also spend her time with the local hunters, helping them out and learning both of the surrounding wildnerness and how to hunt proper. That training coupled with what Master Polmos would teach her started her career as a ranger.
Ponchiki would spend her days either chatting with the townsfolk or out hunting and her nights slinking from rooftop to rooftop, playing pranks and stealing pastries whenever she could. That simple life all changed though when the mists picked her, alongside a slew of others and put them in a strange old mansion. Thus began the events of the campaign!
Much would happen - she'd find out she has a creepy younger brother, a vampire great aunt, meet Strahd himself and by sheer spirit of positivity and optimism she'd get multiple cleric levels. Not to mention all of her amazing party members.
The adventure isn't over yet so we'll see what else is in store for her ~
