Backstory -
Rosario was born to royalty as the youngest of many, one tiefling child to a half-elven family. Considered accursed and a shame to the family, he was kept hidden within the palace away from the public, spending his childhood reading history books and playing with jewelery and coin. Getting nothing but scorn and abuse from his father and brothers, once he was old enough he escaped the capital.
Once he was out, he wondered the realm until he stumbled upon an artefact, a crown of immense power - which he promptly put on, it dug into his skull, awoke his innate magical powers and drove him completely mad.
After that, this insane sorcerer spent countless years raving and rambling in the streets of towns, was arrested, escaped, etc, until he escaped to another continent by attatching himself to the figurehead of a ship and survived the trip off of fish that he was able to grab and rainwater.
Arriving at this continent thats where the campaign began, at that point he had long forgotten his name, calling himself only what he wanted to be the most - "King". Driven by nothing but greed and ambition they dove deep into adventuring.
Much happened in their adventures, King lead these riff raff adventurers through up and down the whole continent, he recovered some of his sanity, remembered his name, gathered a greater and greater following. Eventually he founded the coastal settlement known as the Big Chill, where a varied population of Thri-Kreen, Kobolds, Naga, Yuan-ti, Bird folk, merfolk and others saw him as king.
They fought a demon invasion, powerful devils, a devious hag, got a talking demon sword, killed a tyranical blue dragon, went down to the underdark and stuck their noses in drow politics, King even managed to enlist a doomed drow family under his command. They went to the abyss, to mount celestia, to an interdimensional library, to the infinite staircase, found out the crown has been worn by many monarchs and has all their souls inside of it, which king often speaks to and constantly hears talking in his head. He added a few more monarchs himself which he killed and absorbed ~
The campaign was eventually cancelled due to real life events but King Rosario managed to become a King indeed!
